Mission
To promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge in the field of health, with special attention to highly complex pathologies and to addressing the needs of the most vulnerable and excluded populations at all stages of life. The journal is oriented toward preventing risks, protecting health, restoring lost functions, and rehabilitating capacities, consolidating itself as an academic space that guarantees equitable, timely, and high-quality access to medical knowledge.
Focus and Scope
Focus:
The journal is centered on the generation, analysis, and dissemination of medical and health knowledge that responds to the clinical, epidemiological, and social reality of Peru, particularly in the context of a health system with limited resources. Priority is given to applied research, clinical studies, case reports, reviews, and original articles that contribute to improving the quality of care, strengthening clinical decision-making, and promoting evidence-based health policies.
Scope:
- To highlight the most prevalent and complex health problems in the population served by public hospitals.
- To foster critical thinking and continuous education for medical, health, and academic personnel.
- To promote scientific exchange at national and international levels, with emphasis on intercultural, ethical, and equity-based approaches to health.
- To be an accessible platform for health professionals from all regions of the country, democratizing access to and production of scientific knowledge.
Purpose
The Revista Médica Carriónica aims to contribute to scientific and academic development in the health field through the publication of original research, reviews, clinical cases, and other works that address the country’s health needs.
It seeks to be a space for disseminating medical knowledge generated at the Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo and other institutions of the public health system, promoting continuous improvement in care, equity in health, and professional training based on scientific evidence.
